The Best Drink for Cold Winter Days: Homemade Mochaccino with an Unmatched Flavor + Recipe

According to the Cooking Service of Saed News, mocha coffee is a hot espresso-based drink made from a combination of chocolate sauce, coffee, milk, and milk foam. Mocha coffee is very popular among coffee and chocolate lovers who do not enjoy the bitter taste of coffee on its own.

According to Farashpaz, in some countries, mocha coffee is known as “Mochaccino.” In this section, Saed News teaches you how to prepare café-style mocha coffee in layers, just like in coffee shops.

Ingredients for Mocha Coffee

  • Coffee: 30 ml

  • Chocolate powder: 15 g

  • Cocoa powder: 15 g

  • Milk: 100 ml

  • Water: as needed

Step-by-Step Instructions to Make Mocha Coffee

Step 1: Prepare the Chocolate Sauce
Mix cocoa powder and chocolate powder together, add some boiling water, and stir until it reaches a caramel-like syrup consistency.

Step 2: Brew the Coffee
Prepare the coffee. If you have a coffee maker, fill the bottom container with two cups of water and add coffee powder to the top container until full, then place it over low heat. As soon as it starts boiling, remove it from the heat.

To make coffee without a coffee maker, mix coffee powder with some cold water in a small saucepan and place it over low heat. When it begins to boil, remove it from the heat.

Step 3: Prepare Milk and Foam
Heat some milk until it is near boiling, but do not let it boil too much.

Reserve a small portion of the milk to make milk foam for decoration. To make foam, pour warm milk (around 60°C) into a French press, filling it halfway. Pump the French press plunger up and down to create the foam. You can also use a handheld whisk by moving it back and forth in the warm milk until foam forms.

Step 4: Serve and Decorate Mocha Coffee
Take a glass and pour in the prepared chocolate sauce first, followed by the aromatic coffee, then gently add the hot milk. Finally, top it with milk foam.

For decoration, you can use whipped cream along with a touch of vanilla and cinnamon.

Important Tips

  • This is a perfect winter drink.

  • Instead of chocolate powder, you can use ready-made chocolate sauces.

  • If you prefer a slightly more bitter taste, melt a few pieces of dark chocolate using the bain-marie method (place chocolate pieces in a container over boiling water and stir until melted) and add it to the mixture instead of chocolate powder.

  • Espresso coffee is recommended, but if you do not enjoy the strong taste of espresso, you can use brewed coffee, which is less bitter.

  • For a quick mocha coffee without layers, heat coffee and cold water together until it starts boiling, then remove from heat. Heat milk and add chocolate pieces, stirring until dissolved. Add sugar, coffee, and cream to the milk and stir over low heat until thickened. Pour into your desired glass, decorate, and enjoy.

  • Mocha coffee can also be served cold. After preparation, place it in the refrigerator for a few minutes.

  • Ice cream can be used instead of whipped cream.
