Since the Gaza War Began, Israeli Military Faces Unprecedented Spike in Suicide Rates

Official reports released by the Israeli military reveal an unprecedented rise in suicide rates among its soldiers.

Based on data published by the Israeli occupation army, the number of soldier suicides has sharply increased since the onset of the genocidal war in Gaza on October 7, 2023.

The Palestinian Information Center attributes this surge to mounting psychological pressures caused by the ongoing conflict.

Figures show that between October 7 and the end of 2023, seven active-duty soldiers took their own lives. In 2024, another 21 suicides were recorded among Israeli soldiers.

Moreover, at least 20 additional soldiers have committed suicide since the beginning of 2025.

Prior to the war, the annual average number of suicides among Israeli soldiers was approximately 12 cases. These recent figures indicate that the suicide rate during this period has nearly doubled.
