According to SAEDNEWS, Fatemeh Mohajerani, the administration spokesperson, has said that President Masoud Pezeshkian’s interview on the Tucker Carlson Show was not a mere routine media event, but a strategic and wise step representing the voice of the Iranian people on the international stage.
In a memo published on Saturday, Mohajerani wrote that in a world, where the image of the Islamic Republic is often distorted by opposition media outlets, such candid and fact-based dialogue was a vital necessity.
According to the spokesperson, the central message of the president’s interview was that Iranians are a people with a rich history, culture, and dignity, one that will not allow others to misrepresent them through their own narrative.
She said that President Pezeshkian, speaking in a calm yet assertive tone, emphasized the longstanding principles of Iran’s foreign policy, including opposition to warmongering, defense of nations’ rights, rejection of weapons of mass destruction, and readiness for dialogue based on mutual respect.
Mohajerani also said that the Iranian president’s direct engagement with Western public opinion demonstrates the strength and maturity of the Islamic Republic, as direct communication with the world reflects true national sovereignty.
The Iranian administration believes dialogue is essential for removing misunderstandings, countering the Iranophobia campaign, and defending the authentic image of the Iranian nation, she said.
The spokesperson also called for a reconstruction of national perspectives in accordance with global developments and domestic priorities. Since media diplomacy is a key element of the country’s soft power, she said, Iran must adopt a smart and proactive role in this respect.
President Pezezshkian said in his interview with Tucker Carlson, which was published on July 7 by the Iranian presidential office, said that the United States should stop the warmongering of its staunch ally, Israel, in order for peace to be fostered in the region. The interview was published two weeks after Israel’s war of aggression against Iran came to a halt by a ceasefire.
