According to SaedNews, Sattar Hashemi, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, has ordered a thorough investigation following numerous user reports about the premature depletion of internet data packages.
He mentioned receiving reports from the public and members of parliament regarding this issue and announced that a team from the Radio Communications Regulatory Authority has been tasked with seriously examining the actual internet usage of users and the reasons behind the rapid depletion of data packages.
According to the internal media service of Techna News, the Minister also emphasized the importance of improving internet coverage and quality in rural areas and announced an upcoming press conference to present initial reports on this matter. However, some experts believe that excessive use of video files is one of the main reasons for high internet consumption and the rapid depletion of data packages. They state that the large size of video files and online streaming quickly consume internet data.
Additionally, automatic software updates and background activities of devices can also contribute to higher internet consumption. In previous years, the issue of rapid data package depletion had been raised, and officials consistently emphasized that internet usage measurement systems operate intelligently and cannot be tampered with.
Given the importance of this issue for users, it is expected that the results of the investigation conducted by the Radio Communications Regulatory Authority will be published soon, and appropriate solutions to address this problem will be provided.
