Militants Abduct 227 Students from Nigerian School

AFP reports that militants abducted 215 students and 12 teachers from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Nigeria, citing the Christian Association of Nigeria.

According to the news agency, some of the kidnapped students managed to escape.

The incident occurred after the government had demanded the school restrict visitor access due to repeated militant attacks—a directive St. Mary’s administration reportedly ignored.

Earlier, Arise TV had reported that 52 people were kidnapped in the assault on the school.

On November 19, bandits killed five people in an attack on a church in western Nigeria. A similar attack occurred earlier in Maga, Kebbi State, where militants abducted 24 students.
