SAEDNEWS: Lady Fatima al-Zahra, the daughter of Prophet Muhammad, is remembered for her exceptional piety, compassion, and unwavering strength, qualities that have made her a symbol of moral integrity and spiritual devotion.
Tomorrow marks the martyrdom of Lady Fatima al-Zahra (SA), revered as the “Lady of the Women of the Worlds,” beloved daughter of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), devoted wife of Imam Ali (AS), and mother of the infallible imams.
Born in Mecca on the 20th of Jumadi al-Thani, 18 years before Hijra, Fatima (SA) grew up in the loving care of her parents, Lady Khadijah (RA) and the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). She developed a deep bond with both, witnessing firsthand the challenges her father faced while remaining steadfastly by his side.
The Prophet himself nurtured her upbringing, shaping Fatima into the ideal embodiment of womanhood in Islam. If Muhammad (PBUH) was a model for men, Fatima (SA) became the perfect example for women: devoted, spiritually pure, and morally upright, reflecting her father in character and virtue.
Honored with the title al-Zahra—“the radiant and luminous one”—she was also called Umm Abiha, “the mother of her father,” for her devotion to the Prophet after Khadijah’s passing. Other titles include Seddiqeh, Tahereh, Mobarakeh, Batool, Razieh, and Marzieh.

Lady Fatima’s influence extends beyond her family. She is revered as the leader of all women for continuing the Prophet’s lineage and embodying the teachings of the Quran regarding women. As a daughter, wife, and mother, she fulfilled each role with unwavering dedication. Her generosity was unmatched, and she never requested anything from Imam Ali (AS). She nurtured children who left an indelible mark on history.
Fatima (SA) exemplified patience in the face of trials, including attacks on her family. Her intellect and spirituality shine through in her famous Fadak sermon, where she articulated profound insights on God’s oneness, the Prophet’s mission, and the concept of Imamate.
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) cherished Fatima above all his children. He described her as an angel in human form, a piece of his own heart. He said:
"Whoever hurts Fatima, hurts me; whoever hurts me, hurts Allah; whoever hurts Allah is committing disbelief. O Fatima! Your anger incurs Allah’s anger; your happiness brings Allah’s happiness."
Every morning, he greeted her household with blessings: “Peace be upon you, O Household of Prophethood and the source of Messengership.”

The union of Fatima (SA) and Imam Ali (AS) is remembered as the ideal Islamic marriage, built on piety, humility, and devotion. Imam Ali’s profound knowledge and gentle affection complemented Fatima’s virtues. He once said, “When I looked at her, my griefs and sorrows disappeared.” During her lifetime, he refrained from taking another wife, honoring her dignity and feelings.

Fatima (SA) endured immense trials, including attacks on her home, the loss of her unborn child, and physical assaults. She passed away at age 18, with narrations varying between 75 and 95 days after the Prophet’s death.
Before her passing, she entrusted Imam Ali (AS) with three wishes: he was to perform her funeral rites, exclude those who displeased her, and bury her at night. Her wishes were honored, and she was laid to rest in Jannatu’l-Baqi.
Imam Ali (AS), addressing the Prophet at her grave, said:
"O Prophet of Allah! Accept my salutation and that of your daughter, who is being buried near you and will meet you so quickly. Her death has left me without patience and solace; I have lost my self-restraint and strength."

Lady Fatima al-Zahra (SA) remains a timeless symbol of devotion, courage, and spiritual excellence—the radiant leader of all women across the ages.
