SAEDNEWS: The Deputy head of Iraq’s National Wisdom Movement held a meeting with Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Tehran.
Senior adviser to Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim and deputy head of Iraq’s National Wisdom Movement, Seyed Mohsen Hakim, who traveled to Tehran for consultations with Iranian officials, met on Saturday with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi.
During the meeting, Hakim briefed Araghchi on the recent parliamentary elections in Iraq and expressed gratitude for the Islamic Republic of Iran’s support for the Iraqi government and people.
Araghchi congratulated the Iraqi government and citizens on the peaceful and successful conduct of the elections. He emphasized that the swift formation of a new government would further consolidate the positive impact of the Iraqi people’s active participation.
Highlighting the increased voter turnout, Araghchi called it a key step in strengthening Iraq’s democratic process and safeguarding its sovereignty and national security. He expressed hope that the elections would foster greater cohesion, stability, and progress in Iraq.
The top Iranian diplomat also reaffirmed Iran’s determination to expand its friendly relations with Iraq across all areas of mutual interest.
