Saednews: The New York Roll or Crombolloni is a pastry that gained popularity in the 2020s through social media. It is made with croissant dough in a circular shape. The pastry is filled with pastry cream and covered with a chocolate ganache on top.

How to Make Delicious New York Croissants or New York Rolls with a Bear Design.

Dough Ingredients: 1 pack of puff pastry (for 12 bear-shaped croissants)

Filling: Whipped cream, Nutella, jam, or your preferred filling

Instructions:

  1. Let the dough thaw. Then, cut it into pieces about 3 cm thick (if you're using a ring, cut based on the height of the ring).

  2. Now, like in the video, start rolling. Make sure the first roll is tight, then continue rolling neatly. Once you roll the first dough, continue with the next piece. The size of the rolls depends on the ring you're using (here, a 10 cm diameter ring is used). For the ears, take a strip of dough, cut it in half, and form ears. Place everything in the buttered ring.

  3. Let the prepared dough sit for 1 hour at room temperature.

  4. About 10 minutes before the resting time ends, preheat your oven to 180-200°C.

  5. Place an iron or a greased baking sheet on top of the rings to prevent the rolls from puffing up too much during baking.

  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until golden (adjust the temperature and baking time according to your oven).

  7. Let the rolls rest in the oven with the door slightly open for 10 minutes, then remove the iron or heavy object.

  8. Finally, leave the rolls in the oven for an additional 3-5 minutes.

  9. Remove the croissants from the oven, take them out of the ring, and let them cool.

  10. Fill them with your favorite filling and decorate as desired.

If you don't have a ring, you can make one using foil.
