Cookies are flat, crispy biscuits baked in different styles, making them a popular choice for snacks and afternoon treats. They are also an elegant choice for special occasions. While some may think cookies are hard and dry, if the recipe is followed carefully, they will turn out crispy yet soft. Below is a guide on making strawberry cookies, along with essential tips for success.
Egg: 1
Flour: 1 cup
Brown or white sugar: 1/4 cup
Butter: 75 grams
Strawberries: 5
Chocolate chips: 1 tablespoon
Baking powder: 1/2 teaspoon
Vanilla: A pinch
Prepare the Ingredients:
Bring all ingredients to room temperature. Use a measuring cup or a French-handle glass to measure the ingredients.
Preheat the Pan and Oven:
Choose a double-sided pan, grease the base lightly, and place it on a heat diffuser to warm up for 15 minutes. Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F).
Mix the Base Ingredients:
In a bowl, combine the egg, vanilla, and sugar. Beat with a hand mixer or electric mixer until the mixture turns creamy and fluffy. Add melted butter and mix well to eliminate the raw smell of the ingredients. Use a spatula to scrape down the sides of the bowl, ensuring the butter is fully incorporated.
Combine Dry Ingredients:
Mix flour and baking powder, then sift them three times. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients and stir with a spatula until the flour lumps are dissolved.
Add Strawberries and Chocolate Chips:
Chop and wash the strawberries beforehand. Add them along with the chocolate chips to the dough. Mix gently until well combined.
Shape and Bake the Cookies:
Line the double-sided pan with parchment paper. Using two spoons, place dollops of dough on the parchment, keeping them spaced apart to allow for spreading during baking. Close the pan's lid and bake for 30 minutes.
If using an oven, place the cookie dough on a baking tray and bake for 20 minutes at 180°C. Once baked, let the cookies cool before removing them from the parchment paper.
Remove the seal from the pan lid if using a double-sided pan.
Place the cookies with enough space between them, as they spread during baking.
Use a heat diffuser to ensure even cooking.
Opt for non-melting chocolate chips for better results.
