Elit Forest Fire Now Under Control

Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Sajedi stated that plans to control and extinguish the fire in Elit Forest have been implemented based on expert assessments, achieving significant success.

Meanwhile, Mazandaran Governor Mahdi Younesi confirmed that operations to control the blaze are still ongoing.

“Due to the challenging topography, climate changes, and drought, we increased the number of teams to 40,” he said.

He added that 520 personnel, supported by eight helicopters and two Ilyushin aircraft, are actively working in the area.

The Elit Forests in Marzanabad have caught fire twice. The first fire broke out on November 1, 2025, and was extinguished after several days of efforts by emergency forces. The second fire started on November 15. Thanks to the deployment of three helicopters and the efforts of emergency teams and local residents, a large portion of the fire has been contained, though a small area continues to burn.
