SAEDNEWS: Throughout human history, even ancient civilizations showed efforts to enhance their appearance, suggesting that the desire for beauty is a natural and timeless inclination. The face has traditionally been the primary focus of this attention.

Break Up with Pimples!

According to SAEDNEWS: from the dawn of history, humans have shown signs of striving for beauty. This indicates that the desire for beauty is a natural inclination without limitations. Typically, the focus of beauty is the face.

Even the smallest blemish on this focal point of beauty can disturb one's peace, prompting the person to address it immediately. Pimples are one of the most common skin problems, experienced by nearly everyone. Perhaps this is why numerous methods for treating pimples are passed around, regardless of their accuracy. Dr. Iranazad Asl, a traditional medicine specialist and the head of the Traditional Medicine Scientific Association, considers some of these efforts futile and introduces the correct methods.

Why Do We Get Pimples?

Traditional medicine classifies organs into "noble" and "non-noble" categories based on their importance in vital activities. During metabolism, the body produces waste materials that are expelled through natural pathways such as urine, feces, and sweat. If the volume of waste in the body exceeds the normal level due to overeating, improper diet, digestive issues, or incomplete digestion, or if the waste is not expelled naturally, the body automatically redirects the waste to non-noble organs, including the skin, to protect vital organs, resulting in disease or discomfort in those areas.

Additionally, the body directs waste to non-noble organs that are weaker. If a person has genetically weaker skin or other causes of weakness in the skin area, their skin will be affected. One of the common skin problems is pimples, which appear on the skin based on this structure.

Pimples and the Four Humors

From the perspective of Iranian traditional medicine, pimples have various types based on the dominant type of humor that has accumulated in the body and caused them. There are four types:

First: When bile is the dominant humor causing pimples, it results in red pimples that are sharp-tipped, burning, itchy, and sometimes discharge yellowish fluid.

Second: When blood is the dominant humor causing pimples, it results in large, inflamed, painful pimples, sometimes accompanied by blood discharge.

Third: When phlegm is the dominant humor causing pimples, it results in white pimples known as whiteheads.

Fourth: When black bile is the dominant humor causing pimples, it results in flat pimples that are not very swollen and have a slightly dark color.

Lifestyle Changes for General Pimple Treatment

The most basic and effective way to treat pimples is to change your lifestyle:

Reduce your daily food intake. Avoid snacking and eating multiple meals at once.

Never consume ready-made or fast foods, which are usually spicy.

Incorporate light, homemade meals into your diet.

Traditional foods such as barberry rice with chicken, rice with sumac, carrot rice, quince and spinach stew, rhubarb stew, and thin soups like barley soup and coriander soup are the best options. Avoid fried foods and use a small amount of olive oil for cooking.

Drink a glass of chicory and fumitory water with a tablespoon of sekanjabin and khakshir on an empty stomach every morning, especially for young people.

Treat Constipation

When waste materials are not expelled from the body, pimples appear. One of the ways to expel waste is through bowel movements, so if you are constipated, you should seek treatment.

Soak 250 grams of dried plums, 150 grams of tamarind, 100 grams of traganth, and 100 grams of brown sugar in 7 glasses of boiling water overnight. In the morning, put the mixture in a cloth bag, press and rub it, and strain it. Drink one-third of it on an empty stomach each morning for three days. This will treat constipation and improve your pimple situation to some extent.

Don't Wash Your Face Too Much

Some people believe that pimples are caused by dirty skin. As a result, they wash their face several times a day, hoping to get rid of pimples. However, excessive contact with water (especially when washing with soap) removes the skin's natural oils, causing dryness. Additionally, the sebaceous glands increase toxin secretion in a defensive reaction, worsening the pimple situation. The best way to clean the skin is to use cotton soaked in rosewater.

Soak cotton in rosewater several times and gently rub it on your skin in a circular motion. When the cotton no longer darkens, it means your skin is completely clean. Be careful not to rub the cotton on your eyelashes and eyebrows. To keep your skin moist and normalize sebaceous gland secretion, spray plain water on your skin every hour.

Avoid Soaps and Alcohol-Based Cosmetics

If your skin has pimples, you should avoid doing anything to it for a while. It might seem difficult at first, but it is better than having pimples on your face. Furthermore, even after treating pimples, you will have to find a way to get rid of the pimple marks, which is much harder than following these recommendations.

If your pimples have a red base and are inflamed, do not touch them, and avoid irritating the skin.

  • Do not use rough towels on your face.

  • Avoid chemical and physical exfoliants.

  • Do not use lasers.

  • Minimize the use of cosmetics.

  • Avoid exposing your facial skin to heat.

  • If possible, do not shave your face.

  • Use oil-free sunscreen.

A Natural Exfoliant

Once your facial skin is completely healed, and no new pimples appear, it's time to use an exfoliant. An exfoliant can help eliminate pimple marks and subcutaneous pimples. Remember, pimple marks should be treated immediately after the pimple heals. Otherwise, the marks will remain on your face forever.

Prepare Natural Exfoliants at Home

First Exfoliant: Mix equal parts of katira and broad bean flour with a little water to form a paste. Apply the paste as a mask on your face. After 20 minutes, clean it with warm milk.

Second Exfoliant: Mix 100 grams of Armenian flower powder with 20 grams of flaxseed powder, add a little water to form a paste, and apply it as a mask on your face. After an hour, rinse it off under warm running water.

Use these masks twice a day, in the morning and before bed. Note that these natural exfoliants are milder than chemical ones, and if your skin needs more intensive treatment, consult a specialist.
