According to SAEDNEWS, At least 24 individuals, including an Indonesian national, were burned alive by a mob in Bangladesh at the Zabir International Hotel, owned by a leader of the Awami League party. This tragic incident occurred after the party's leader, Sheikh Hasina, resigned as Prime Minister and fled the country, according to local journalists and hospital sources on Tuesday.
The attack took place late Monday night when the mob set the hotel ablaze in the Joshor district, which is owned by Shahin Chakkladar, the Awami League's general secretary for the area.
A local journalist, speaking to PTI from Dhaka, confirmed that the deceased included an Indonesian national. Doctors at Joshor General Hospital reported counting 24 bodies, and surviving hotel staff expressed concerns that additional victims might be trapped in the rubble.
Media sources indicated that an unidentified mob, opposed to the Awami League (AL) regime, ignited the fire on the ground floor of the hotel, with flames quickly spreading to the upper levels.
Similar reports emerged from various regions across the country, where enraged mobs vandalized homes and businesses belonging to multiple Awami League leaders and activists, including the party's central office on Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital.
