SAEDNEWS: Qolqol Spring, located in Darband village in Azna, is one of the most important natural and recreational attractions in Lorestan Province. With a discharge rate of 45 liters per second and crystal-clear, cool water, it offers a refreshing and scenic natural setting for visitors.
According to Saednews, Cheshmeh Qelqel (also known as Cheshmeh Qolqol) is one of the natural attractions of Darband village in Azna County. The spring water is used for agricultural purposes and, on holidays and leisure days, the area serves as a recreational destination for tourists and travelers seeking rest and relaxation.
The spring is located between Darband village and the special economic zone, slightly below the environmental protection post of Azna County. Its water discharge is estimated at around 10 inches. This beautiful and scenic location has clear and pure water, which locals believe is refreshing and helps relieve stress and fatigue when consumed.
Azna County is one of the counties of Lorestan Province in western Iran. Its capital is the city of Azna, situated in the expansive Japalak plain. The county is bordered by the Oshtorankuh and Sefidkuh mountains to the south, Dorud County to the west, and other surrounding regions including Imamzadeh Qasem, Momenabad, Farzian plain, Shazand, Khomein, and Aligudarz to the east and north.
Cheshmeh Qelqel lies within a small but lush and beautiful gorge. The spring water gushes out in a bubbling motion from a seven-meter rock crevice at the end of a rocky mountain, which is why locals have long called it “Qelqel” or “Qolqola,” meaning bubbling or gurgling spring.

With a flow rate of about 45 liters per second, this spring is one of the highest-yield water sources in the Toye Dehwar spring complex. Its water is cold and refreshing and has been traditionally used for drinking, irrigating gardens, and swimming during summer. Being located at the highest point of the Toye Dehwar region, it offers stunning natural views of the surrounding mountains.
The spring, along with ancient trees, green meadows, and flower-covered landscapes, creates a fragrant and pleasant environment. The moderate climate of the gorge, the soothing sound of flowing water cascading downward, and the melodic songs of birds in spring, summer, and early autumn make it a memorable destination for visitors and nature lovers throughout the year.
