SAEDNEWS: A Girl Got Engaged to Her Childhood Friend—But a Lizard Delayed the Wedding
According to a news report by Saed News Agency, 25-year-old Lizzie Griffith, a schoolteacher in London, is so attached to her pet lizard that her behavior may be difficult for many people to understand.
She is extremely devoted to her pet lizard, named George, and cares for him to the extent that she wakes up every morning at 5:30 a.m. to take care of him. She even postponed her wedding in order to be able to afford George’s medical expenses.
The lizard had suffered from a chest infection, but recovered thanks to Lizzie’s care. Shortly afterward, a tumor began growing on its face, and even after two surgeries, it did not improve. Fearing she might lose her beloved pet, Lizzie decided to spend the rest of her savings on George’s treatment. She paid £3,000 for chemotherapy, and the treatment appears to have been successful for the small lizard.
Last summer, Lizzie became engaged to her childhood friend Chris Fisher, 26, but the wedding has been postponed for now. Chris does not seem to have an issue with the situation; he says he knows he comes second to the lizard, but he has fully accepted it.
