SAEDNEWS: Ramesh Chandra Swain, Who Lives in Odisha in Eastern India, Is the Country’s Most Notorious Polygamist
According to Saed News, citing Fararu, police arrested a man this month for deceiving 14 women into marriage over the course of 43 years and committing fraud. However, after examining his mobile phone, authorities discovered that he had deceived far more women than initially thought—he has at least 27 wives.
He carefully categorized his victims in his contact list based on their professions. He posed as a healthcare official, claiming he needed to travel constantly to inspect medical facilities, which allowed him to stay away from home for extended periods without raising suspicion.
Police say his primary motive was financial, though he also sought sexual gratification. He was skilled at convincing his targets and focused solely on successful single, widowed, or divorced women in their late 40s.
He saved his wives’ names on his phone according to their profession and location—for example, “Doctor’s Wife,” “Lawyer’s Wife,” “Delhi Wife.”
