Make 5-Minute Pasta: Step-by-Step Guide to Simple and Delicious Pasta

According to the Family Magazine section of SaedNews, pasta is a simple yet incredibly delicious Italian dish. In our country, it’s often prepared in a slightly different, even tastier style. Follow this step-by-step guide to learn how to make perfect pasta at home.

Ingredients for Pasta:

  • Pasta: 400g

  • Ground beef: 200g

  • Onion: 1 large

  • Mushrooms: 100g

  • Potatoes: 2 large

  • Green peas: 100g

  • Bell pepper: 1

  • Tomato paste: 3 tablespoons

  • Salt and black pepper: to taste

  • Turmeric and oil: as needed

Step-by-Step Preparation:

Step 1:
Peel and wash the onions, then dice them finely. Wash the bell pepper, remove the seeds and stem, and cut into 1 cm squares. Set aside.

Step 2:
Clean and wash the mushrooms. Once dry, slice them thinly and set aside. Heat 2–3 tablespoons of oil in a pan over medium heat.

Step 3:
Add the onions to the pan and sauté until slightly soft. Add the ground beef and stir well until it changes color completely.

Step 4:
If desired, peel, wash, and finely grate the garlic. Add turmeric, black pepper, diced bell pepper, and garlic to the meat and onion mixture.

Step 5:
Push the ingredients to the sides of the pan, add the tomato paste, and sauté continuously for about 1 minute until the raw smell disappears and the color changes.

Step 6:
Reduce the heat and add the mushrooms. Mix thoroughly so that all ingredients are coated with tomato paste.

Step 7:
Return to medium heat, pour 1 cup of water over the mixture, cover the pan, and allow the meat to partially cook and the sauce to thicken. This will take about 15–30 minutes.

Step 8:
Fill a pot with water up to one-third, place over medium-high heat, and bring to a boil. Peel, wash, and slice 1–2 potatoes, depending on the pot size.

Step 9:
Once the water boils, add salt and ½ tablespoon of oil, then immediately add the pasta. Check the sauce—it should be thickened and well combined. Remove the pan from heat and set aside.

Step 10:
Cook pasta according to the time indicated on the package, usually 5–7 minutes in boiling water. Test by tasting one piece. Drain the pasta.

Step 11:
Add oil to the pot and layer the potatoes at the bottom. Place a layer of pasta, followed by meat sauce and a sprinkle of thyme (optional). Repeat with pasta and sauce layers until all ingredients are used.

Step 12:
Cover the pot, place it on a steam rack, and allow to cook over low-medium heat for about 5 minutes. Then reduce the heat and let it steam completely for 45 minutes.

Step 13:
Finally, transfer the cooked pasta to a serving dish and garnish with the golden potatoes on top.

Enjoy your meal! 😍
