According to Eghtesad News, the Santa Clara, California–based AI chip company on Monday unveiled powerful new chips at its annual NVIDIA GTC event in Taipei that bring advanced AI capabilities to laptops and desktop computers.
CEO Jensen Huang said that this development “will transform the personal computer (PC).”
These changes come after three years of cooperation between Microsoft and Nvidia and place Nvidia in competition with companies such as semiconductor firm Advanced Micro Devices, as well as PC brands Intel and Apple.
While unveiling the RTX Spark superchip, Huang said: “This will be the new personal computer.” The chip combines CPU (Central Processing Unit) and GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) capabilities and is expected to power new models of laptops and home computers, which the company refers to as “AI personal computers.” These products are expected to be released in the fall of this year.
