SAEDNEWS: Iranian President Pezeshkian Calls for Greater Unity and Cooperation Among Muslim Nations to Address Regional Security Challenges

Pezeshkian Calls for Unity and Stronger Cooperation Among Islamic Nations

According to Saednews, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has expressed Iran’s readiness to support initiatives aimed at strengthening solidarity, security and development among Islamic countries.

Speaking at a meeting in Tehran on Monday with Saudi Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman, Pakistan’s Army Chief Asim Munir and Turkish intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalin, Pezeshkian emphasized the importance of prioritizing shared interests and common religious and cultural ties to resolve disputes and prevent external interference from destabilizing the region.

He condemned Israeli attacks in Gaza, Lebanon and other parts of the region, noting that Iran had also been targeted, with senior officials, military commanders, scientists and schoolchildren killed. He urged Muslim nations to coordinate their efforts to confront aggression and insecurity.

The Iranian president stressed that regional agreements must lead to tangible results, including improved transport links, easier cross-border exchanges and expanded cooperation among universities, research institutions and businesses.

He said closer economic, cultural and scientific relations would enhance public welfare, strengthen collective security and help tackle the underlying causes of terrorism and instability.

Pezeshkian reiterated that Iran has no intention of developing nuclear weapons and seeks to pursue its nuclear activities within the framework of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT). He emphasized that Iran’s right to peaceful nuclear technology must be respected under international law.

He also criticized attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities amid ongoing calls for negotiations, describing such actions as contradictory and damaging to mutual trust.

Furthermore, Pezeshkian called on Islamic countries to reject policies that deepen divisions and weaken regional states. He argued that stronger economic cooperation could help countries address domestic challenges and resist external pressure.

Reaffirming Iran’s commitment to working with Muslim nations on the basis of mutual interests, respect for national rights and shared religious bonds, Pezeshkian expressed hope that joint efforts would help end Israeli aggression against Palestinians and other affected populations while advancing lasting peace, security and justice throughout the region.
