SAEDNEWS: Pakistan says it remains in close contact with Iran and the US, urging both sides to resolve their differences through diplomacy and exercise restraint.
According to Saednews, Pakistan Foreign Ministry spokesperson Sajjad Haider made the remarks during a press conference on Friday.
Addressing concerns over the potential impact of unilateral US sanctions on Iran-Pakistan relations, Haider said Islamabad’s position remains unchanged and that Pakistan will comply with applicable sanctions in line with its international obligations.
Responding to Iran’s announcement that it would never transfer nuclear material outside its territory, the spokesperson said the matter was between Iran and the United States. He emphasized that Pakistan’s role is to support diplomatic engagement, reduce tensions, and facilitate mediation efforts.
Regarding the situation along the Iran-Pakistan border, Haider offered no clear update, stating that he had no new information on the matter. His remarks came after Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir visited Tehran on October 20 and reportedly stressed that the borders between the two countries had reopened.
