SAEDNEWS: “America started the war but expects the whole world to pay the bill, while portraying Iran as the one responsible for creating this chaos,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said.
According to Saednews, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said the Strait of Hormuz remained fully open until February 28, when the United States and Israel launched an attack on Iran.
In a post on X, Baghaei accused Washington of starting what he described as an unlawful and destructive war in the region, saying the conflict had disrupted normal commercial shipping. He pointed to halted tanker movements, interrupted trade and rising energy prices as consequences of the escalation.
Baghaei also criticized Washington for attempting to blame Iran for the disruption. He argued that the United States was effectively asking the international community to bear the economic consequences of a crisis that, in his view, was created by Washington itself.
According to Baghaei, the US began the conflict but is now portraying Iran as responsible for the resulting instability and disruption to global trade.
“That is utterly preposterous!” he concluded.
