JD Vance Reveals U.S. Strategy: Iran Faces a Choice Between “Surrender” and “Poverty”

According to Saed News’ political service, U.S. Vice President JD Vance discussed Washington’s policy toward Iran, saying that increasing oil and gas supplies could ease energy-price pressures on Americans while simultaneously increasing economic pressure on Iran and changing Tehran’s calculations regarding a potential agreement with Washington.

As reported by Fararu, Vance referred to Iran’s attacks on commercial vessels and said that if the United States could bring enough oil and gas onto the market to reduce pressure from fuel and energy prices on some Americans, while also punishing Iran economically for firing on commercial ships, significant economic pressure would be placed on Tehran.

He added that such pressure could change Iran’s calculations about what kind of agreement or arrangement it wants with the United States. According to Vance, Iran must decide whether it wants its economy to remain under severe pressure indefinitely or pursue better relations with the West.

Vance concluded by claiming that this has always been the choice presented to Iran by U.S. President Donald Trump.
