SAEDNEWS: Hours after the U.S. Air Force conducted an air incursion on the outskirts of Bandar Abbas Airport, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) carried out a retaliatory and decisive operation, precisely targeting the air base from which the attack originated.
According to the policy news service of Saed News Agency, early this morning, following what was described as a “provocative and aggressive act” by the U.S. military involving aerial munitions striking an area on the outskirts of Bandar Abbas Airport, the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran reportedly responded swiftly and forcefully.
Based on Iran’s declared defensive doctrine of not tolerating any violation of its territorial integrity, operational units of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) allegedly launched a retaliatory operation shortly after the incident. In this operation, a U.S. air base identified as the origin of the attack was reportedly targeted.
The IRGC Public Relations Office issued an official statement accepting responsibility for what it described as a retaliatory operation and outlining Iran’s position. The statement read:
“In the name of God, the Avenger of the Oppressed. ‘So whoever transgresses against you, then transgress against him in the same way he transgressed against you.’ Following the early morning attack by the U.S. military on an area near Bandar Abbas Airport using aerial munitions, the U.S. air base identified as the source of the aggression was targeted at 4:50 a.m. This response serves as a serious warning, so the enemy understands that aggression will not go unanswered, and any repetition will be met with a more decisive response. The responsibility for the consequences lies with the aggressor. Victory comes only from God, the Mighty, the Wise.”
The rapid and proportionate response by the IRGC to the alleged early-morning U.S. strike is described as a turning point in regional deterrence dynamics and in reinforcing Iran’s position of authority in the region.
Targeting the originating air base is presented as a practical application of a “tit-for-tat” strategy, signaling a rejection of perceived U.S. assumptions about unilateral military action without consequences.
