U.S. Secretary of State: Our Focus Is on Negotiating with Iran, Not Military Action

According to SaedNews, citing Entekhab, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced significant upcoming meetings involving Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff focused on Iran.

Rubio stated that Kushner and Witkoff plan to hold important discussions regarding Iran, and the United States will wait for the outcomes of these meetings.

He added that he would not comment on potential attacks against Iran, as former President Donald Trump has emphasized a preference for diplomacy.

Regarding Iran, Rubio claimed: “We are dealing with actors who make geopolitical decisions solely based on religious principles, which makes the situation complex.”

Rubio further noted that no one has yet succeeded in reaching a successful agreement with Iran, but the U.S. will continue its efforts.

He emphasized that America’s presence in the Middle East aims to ensure the necessary resources and capabilities to respond to any potential attacks on U.S. forces. “We are positioned in the region for a simple reason: we know there could be threats against our forces here. We have seen these threats in the past and want to ensure we have sufficient capacity to defend against any incident, God forbid. Our focus remains on negotiations. If the situation changes, it will be clear to all, and naturally, any action required by law will be taken.”
