SAEDNEWS: A magnitude 5.2 earthquake struck northwest of Suez, Egypt, early Monday, sending tremors across several countries in the Middle East. The seismic activity was felt in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Cyprus, and the occupied Palestinian territories.
According to Saednews, A moderate earthquake struck near the Egyptian city of Suez at approximately 3:00 a.m. local time, according to preliminary seismic data. The epicenter was located about 26 kilometers northwest of Suez and roughly 120 kilometers south-southeast of Port Said.
People in Egypt and the Gaza Strip reported feeling the shaking, with some saying the tremors lasted for several minutes before subsiding.
The earthquake was also felt in several neighboring countries and regions, including Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Cyprus, and the occupied Palestinian territories.
Authorities have not reported any significant damage or casualties, and assessments are continuing as officials monitor the situation.
