Revealing Details Of A Tense Phone Call Between Trump And Netanyahu: What The Hell Are You Doing?

According to SAEDNEWS, Axios reported that Trump, in a phone call on Monday (yesterday) filled with profanity, launched a harsh verbal attack on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over Israel’s escalation in Lebanon.

The report further states that a U.S. official said Trump told Netanyahu that carrying out his threats to bomb the capital of Lebanon would further isolate Israel internationally.

Two sources said Trump told Netanyahu that he had helped keep him out of prison—referring to his support during Netanyahu’s corruption trial.

A summary of Trump’s remarks to Netanyahu was described by the U.S. official as: “You are crazy. If it weren’t for me, you would be in prison right now. I’m saving you. Everyone hates you now. Because of this, everyone hates Israel.”

A second source familiar with the call said Trump was “angry” and at one point shouted at Netanyahu: “What the hell are you doing?”

Trump and Netanyahu have had several tense calls, but they have still maintained close coordination on Iran and other issues. One official said this was one of the worst calls between Trump and Netanyahu since Trump returned to the presidency.

It appears that Trump’s anger stemmed from the fact that Netanyahu’s decision to escalate tensions in Lebanon had pushed his negotiations with Iran to the brink of collapse.

An Israeli official told Axios that Israel no longer plans to strike Hezbollah positions in Beirut.
