According to SAEDNEWS, researchers have developed a nanoparticle-based smart tattoo that can detect early signs of skin cancer—especially melanoma—by tracking extremely subtle thermal changes in the skin. This system, called SMEAR-ULM, combines microneedles, nanoparticles, and ultra-fast imaging to detect melanoma even before it becomes visible on the skin’s surface.
Experiments have shown that this technology can identify micro-melanomas just four days after they begin forming—a method that is faster and less invasive than traditional biopsies.
