Saed News: According to conducted research, a car’s dashboard, seats, and air conditioning system may emit benzene gas, which is a highly toxic and carcinogenic substance.
According to SAEDNEWS, after entering a car, it is better to first roll down the windows for a few minutes to ventilate the interior air, and then turn on the air conditioner or ventilation system.
Some studies have shown that components such as the dashboard, seats, and vehicle air conditioning system may release volatile chemical compounds, including “benzene,” especially in hot weather. Benzene is a chemical substance that can be harmful to health with prolonged and excessive exposure. The smell sometimes similar to hot plastic inside a car may be caused by these compounds.
Long-term exposure to high levels of benzene may be associated with health problems such as damage to the blood system, liver, and kidneys, and medical studies have also examined its link to certain serious diseases.
On hot days, especially when a car has been parked under sunlight for a long time, the air inside the cabin may contain higher levels of these compounds. Therefore, it is recommended that before turning on the air conditioner:
Open the doors or windows for a few minutes
Allow the air inside the car to be exchanged
Then turn on the ventilation system
This not only helps reduce unpleasant odors inside the car but also improves air circulation and reduces possible chemical buildup.
Sometimes a simple recommendation can play an important role in protecting our health and the health of those around us.
