Two 5-Year-Old Children Married in Thailand

According to Saed News, citing Sarpoosh: The marriage of two twin children in Thailand has become a topic of media attention. The wedding of these two 5-year-old siblings was held based on a superstitious belief in Buddhism that they had been husband and wife in a previous life. The unusual ceremony of “Washiravit Be Musika” and his sister “Reinarada Brim” took place on March 4 at their home in the Nakhon Si Thammarat region.

The parents of the two children, 31-year-old Virasak and his wife, 30-year-old Rewadi, who follow Buddhist teachings, organized the ceremony based on the belief that their twin children were married to each other in a past life. According to this superstition, if the marriage was not arranged as early as possible, the children would be faced with bad luck and misfortune in their lives.

Relatives and family friends attended the unusual wedding ceremony. The ceremony was also conducted by several Buddhist monks who were present at their home.

Virasak, the father of the two children, expressed happiness about the marriage and said: “I was happy to have these twins, but I was also worried that they might carry something from their previous life into their new life. With this marriage, they are able to cleanse the karma of their past life.”

He also explained the reason for the ceremony, saying: “We believe that twins of different genders (a boy and a girl) must marry; otherwise, one of them may later suffer illness in life.”
