Saed News: Armed thieves who attacked a young man and stole his expensive mobile phone caused severe shock to his pregnant wife, resulting in a miscarriage. The suspects have been arrested by the police and a criminal gang has been dismantled.
According to SAEDNEWS, citing Rokna, the young man reported to the police that he was walking with his pregnant wife and 4-year-old daughter in one of the streets of Tehranpars when two men on a motorcycle blocked their way and attacked him with a knife in order to steal his iPhone 13 Pro Max. After injuring him and stealing his phone, they fled.
The victim said that while he was injured and his daughter was crying out of fear, his wife—who had been severely shocked by the incident—suddenly experienced intense abdominal pain and collapsed on the ground. After being taken to the hospital, doctors confirmed that she had suffered a miscarriage.
Following the complaint, and by order of the Seventh Branch of the Special Robbery Prosecutor’s Office, the case was referred to criminal investigation officers. Through local investigations, one of the suspects, a repeat offender, was identified. It was discovered that he and his accomplice had formed an organized criminal gang operating across eastern, southern, and northern Tehran.
Further investigations revealed that the suspects had a hideout in the areas of Meydan-e Khorasan and Pirouzi Street. Police found that over the past year, they and six other accomplices had committed around 200 mobile phone thefts and robberies.
In a coordinated operation, police arrested the two main suspects after surveillance, and later six other members of the gang were also detained in different parts of Tehran. The suspects admitted that they used the stolen money to purchase luxury goods such as watches and carpets, and laundered money through bank cards belonging to close relatives. A large amount of stolen property was also recovered from their hideout.
The suspects have been handed over to Tehran police for further investigation and to identify additional victims.
