SAEDNEWS: The Chini Museum is 400 years old and is in the eastern part of the main Ravagh of the Sheikh Safi al-Dowleh Ardabili complex. Sheikh Baha'i, a celebrity and a scholar of the Safavid dynasty is the designer of this complex.
The museum is housed in a hall featuring four magnificent and valuable arches. Located within the tomb complex of Safi al-Din, it showcases intricate decorations, including paintings, gildings, colorful Mogharnas, and traditional Islamic designs. Its fame, however, comes from its remarkable earthquake resistance.
Among the museum’s treasures are Chinese porcelain dishes gifted by the Chinese emperor to Shah Abbas of the Safavid dynasty, intricately engraved by local Ardabil artisans.
The museum also preserves a Qur’an manuscript written in Kufi script on deerskin, dating back 1,100 years. Additionally, visitors can view silver coins and a set of Safavid royal commandments, reflecting the rich cultural and historical heritage of the region.
