A teenage streamer’s $30,000 cryptocurrency scam has sparked widespread controversy.
According to Saed News, a 13-year-old streamer created a meme coin called Quant and scammed investors before the crypto community caught on.
The scam took place earlier this week during a live stream. The young boy was excitedly watching the value of his meme coin rise when, suddenly, he sold his entire share—worth $30,000—and mockingly dismissed his viewers. His actions caused the coin’s value to plummet instantly.
Reports indicate that the creator of Quant, a 13-year-old streamer, gained popularity after a viral post on X (formerly Twitter). The post included a picture of a phone displaying profits and a caption that read: "Made $2,000 before school."
Following the launch of Quant during his live stream, investments flooded in. However, the young developer suddenly cashed out, leaving investors stranded and the situation spiraling out of control.
In response, members of the crypto community sought revenge. They began pumping more money into Quant, a move that—if the teenager had held onto his assets—could have increased his share to over $1 million. Soon after, the streamer’s identity, family details, home address, and school were leaked online.
According to some reports, crypto traders even created new tokens using images of the young streamer’s family. This incident highlights the dangers of the crypto world, where some meme coin creators exploit investor emotions through live streams and outrageous stunts, only to scam them in the end.
