Surprise: The First Air Taxi Flight on the Karaj-Qazvin Route

According to SaedNews' social service, quoting from Hamshahri, on Sunday morning, with the presence of a group of aviation industry managers and representatives from the Civil Aviation Organization, the air taxi flight on the Karaj-Qazvin route took place.

This event marks an important step in the development of rapid and smart air transportation in the country, supported and pursued by Hossein Pourfarzaneh, the Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development and the Head of the Civil Aviation Organization. The air taxi flight on the Karaj-Qazvin route was conducted using a Piper aircraft belonging to Atlas Airlines.

An air taxi is an air transportation system that uses small aircraft and commercial jets to transport passengers on short and medium routes. This service is designed to reduce travel time, increase flexibility, and alleviate issues caused by road congestion and flight delays. In many major cities, congested areas, and regions with limited road infrastructure, air taxis can be a fast and efficient alternative to other transportation methods.

In Iran, air taxis were in operation many years ago, but due to the lack of infrastructure development, it gradually faded. In recent years, with special attention to the matter, we have seen improvements in public air transportation. Atlas Airlines, in 2020, received the air taxi license from the Civil Aviation Organization and became the first private air taxi service in the country. The airline made significant investments in air transportation infrastructure, significantly updating air taxi services, which have been operating on various routes over the past four years.

This company, with its diverse fleet and adherence to international standards, has played a major role in the development of this industry. The company operates 10 aircraft for air taxi services with capacities ranging from 2 to 35 passengers and offers an innovative approach to the country's aviation industry. With the recent revival of air taxis and a focus on developing air transportation infrastructure, the company has had a significant impact.

With increasing demand for fast travel, air taxi services enable personal and business travel with maximum speed and minimal formalities. Passengers can choose their desired routes and reach their destination in the shortest time possible, without being tied to the fixed schedules of airline companies.

Among the main advantages of this system are the significant reduction in travel time compared to land and rail methods, flexibility in flight scheduling, reduced stress from delays and airport congestion, the ability to use smaller and local airports, and easy access to less-connected areas.
