SAEDNEWS: Polishing Tiles Is One of the Hardest Household Chores—Here’s How to Make It Easier
Many homeowners choose tiles as flooring for kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms, and other areas in the home. Tiles offer a high-end appearance and are an easy, durable alternative to carpets. However, after regular use, floor tiles can develop a layer of dirt and grime that may leave stubborn stains.

Daily exposure to water, dust, and other spills
High humidity and poor ventilation, which can lead to mold and mildew
Grout that easily absorbs dirt
Soap residue from washing or bathing
While regular cleaning is part of household maintenance, it is often not enough to prevent dull and dirty tiles. Tile floors require extra care to maintain their shine.

Clean spills immediately to prevent discoloration.
Sweep tiles regularly and avoid letting dirt dry on the surface.
Rinse cleaned tiles with water to remove any detergent residue.
Avoid harsh chemicals like bleach or strong cleaners, as they can damage grout.
In bathrooms, rinse tiles with water after showering to remove soap residue and moisture, helping to prevent mold.
In kitchens, where grease and mess accumulate over time, make sure tiles are cleaned regularly to keep this high-use area tidy and hygienic.
White vinegar is an excellent natural cleaner for kitchen tiles. It effectively removes grease, disinfects walls, and prevents odors. It is also effective at tackling smoke and soot stains. Mix vinegar with water and use it regularly for cleaning kitchen tiles.
Baking soda is highly effective for removing oil and grease stains from wall tiles. Sprinkle it on a sponge and gently scrub greasy tiles. Afterward, wipe with a clean, damp cloth to remove any residue.

Vegetable oil can be used to naturally clean greasy wall tiles. Apply a small amount to a paper towel and use it to remove oil and stains. This method is sometimes called “fighting grease with grease.”
Sprinkle salt on greasy stains to absorb oil. Follow up with a vinegar or borax solution, then wipe with a damp cloth or sponge.
Mix borax with lemon juice to form a paste. Apply it to stained tiles, leave for a short time, then wipe off with a cloth or sponge.
Combine white vinegar, alcohol, water, and a half teaspoon of dish soap. Add a few drops of peppermint essential oil, pour into a spray bottle, and use a sponge to clean kitchen tiles.

For kitchen or bathroom tiles affected by mold or mildew, mix equal parts lemon juice and baking soda. Apply the mixture to the moldy area and let it sit for a few hours before washing.
Rinse tiles with a mixture of mouthwash and warm water to clean and disinfect floor or wall tiles (not suitable for wood).
Note: Always test cleaners to ensure they are effective and safe for your tiles.
Cleaning tiles can be messy and challenging. If you need professional help, experienced cleaners can make the task easier and more effective.
