SAEDNEWS: A Famous Actress Became Pregnant Using Her Son’s Sperm
According to SaedNews’ social affairs section, a 68-year-old Spanish actress has adopted a girl but revealed on a television program that the child was conceived using the sperm of her deceased son, making the baby legally and biologically her “granddaughter.”
The newborn, named Ana Sandra, was born via a surrogate mother, identified by Lecturas magazine on Wednesday as a Cuban woman residing in Miami, Florida.
The 68-year-old actress, Ana Obregón, responded to criticism by saying, “This was my son’s final wish. How could I not fulfill it? Only parents who have lost a child have the right to comment on this matter.”
Her son passed away several years ago at the age of 27 due to cancer. The child was conceived using a surrogate mother’s egg and the late actor’s sperm.
Spain’s Minister for Equality, Irene Montero, commented, “This is a form of violence against women,” highlighting the “obvious bias related to poverty” affecting women who become surrogates out of financial need.
Obregón replied to these remarks: “People here [in the U.S.] are open-minded, but in Spain, my God, we are living in the last century.”
