How to make Chocolate Cake
Cocoa is one of those delicious foods that many people love. It can be used in making various chocolate cakes and desserts.
Ingredients for Chocolate Cake:
1 cup pastry flour
1/3 cup cocoa powder
50g chocolate
2/3 cup sugar
100g heavy cream
3 large eggs at room temperature
1/2 cup yogurt at room temperature
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1.5 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup vegetable oil
Serves: 6 people
Baking Time: 1 hour
Steps to make Chocolate Cake with Ganache:
First, break 3 large eggs at room temperature into a mixing bowl, add 2/3 cup sugar and 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (or 1 tsp vanilla sugar), and whisk until the mixture becomes creamy, fluffy, and elastic.
Add 1/2 cup vegetable oil and 1/2 cup room-temperature yogurt to the eggs, and mix gently on low speed until well combined.
Transfer the cake batter to a suitable container. In a separate bowl, sift 1/3 cup cocoa powder and 1.5 tsp baking powder into 1 cup pastry flour and mix them well. Sift this mixture over the cake batter in two stages, then gently fold it in with a hand whisk, stirring in a circular motion.
Pour the cake batter into a 10x25 cm (or 20x20 cm) cake tin lined with parchment paper. Place the cake in the middle rack of the oven, preheated to 180°C (350°F), and bake for 45 minutes.
After baking, remove the cake from the oven and place it on a cooling rack to cool completely.
While the cake is cooling, chop 50g of sweet chocolate. Then, heat 100g of heavy cream in a pot on low heat. Once the cream is warmed, remove it from the heat and stir in the chopped chocolate until it melts completely, forming ganache.
Once the cake has cooled slightly, pour the ganache over it and serve.
Making Chocolate Cake with Yogurt: If you prefer not to use milk in your cake or don’t have access to it, you can substitute yogurt for the chocolate cake recipe.
Ingredients for Chocolate Yogurt Cake:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
2 tbsp cocoa powder
2 eggs
3/4 cup yogurt
1/5 cup vegetable oil
1 tbsp (leveled) baking powder
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Steps to make Chocolate Yogurt Cake:
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). While the oven is heating, place eggs, sugar, and vanilla in a bowl and beat well with an electric mixer.
Once the egg mixture has puffed up, slowly add the oil and yogurt and mix gently with a spatula.
Sift the flour, baking powder, and cocoa powder and add to the egg mixture. Mix gently again.
Grease your desired cake pan with a little oil and pour in the cake batter. Place the pan in the oven.
After 30 minutes, your chocolate cake will be ready. Enjoy!
