SAEDNEWS: The painting “God of Artificial Intelligence,” created by humanoid robot Ai-Da, sold for $1.8 million at auction. Named in honor of Ada Lovelace, the world’s first computer programmer, Ai-Da initially sketched several small portraits of Alan Turing, then combined them on a large canvas, adding color and texture to the final piece.

According to the Science and Technology Desk of Saed News, the auction house Sotheby’s stated in a press release:
"The record-breaking sale of the first artwork created by a humanoid robot artist offered at auction marks a memorable moment in the history of modern and contemporary art, demonstrating the growing intersection of artificial intelligence technology and the global art market."

Ai-Da, one of the world’s most advanced robots, is designed to resemble a human woman. Its name honors Ada Lovelace, the world’s first computer programmer.

Ai-Da was created by Aidan Meller, a specialist in modern and contemporary art. The development team, led by Meller, collaborated with AI experts from Oxford and Birmingham Universities.
