SAEDNEWS: Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Mohammad Eslami met and held talks with the Head of Venezuelan delegation and Deputy Minister for Science and Technology Alberto Quintero in Vienna.
Iranian and Venezuelan officials met on the sidelines of the 69th IAEA General Conference in Vienna, highlighting plans to expand collaboration in nuclear technology.
During the talks, the two sides focused on developing radiopharmaceutical production, advancing education, and joint research projects. A key topic was the recommissioning of Venezuelan accelerators that had been inactive due to sanctions. Iranian experts pledged to repair and reactivate the equipment, a proposal warmly welcomed by Venezuela.
Both countries emphasized strengthening cooperation across multiple sectors. It was also agreed that Venezuela’s Minister of Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez, along with a delegation, will visit Iran soon to further cement these collaborative efforts.
