According to the historical service of Saed News, the Cyrus Cylinder, or the Cyrus Human Rights Charter, is a clay tablet that was inscribed in 538 BC by the command of Cyrus the Great, the Achaemenid king and founder of the Achaemenid Empire. The first half of this tablet is written in the language of Babylonian chroniclers, while the latter half contains the words and orders of Cyrus in the Akkadian cuneiform script (New Babylonian). This cylinder was discovered in 1258 Persian calendar (1879 AD) at the Esagila temple (the temple of Marduk, the great Babylonian god) in the ancient city of Babylon and is currently housed in the British Museum in London. This charter is one of the greatest symbols of tolerance in Iranian culture.
