SAEDNEWS: A video showing apparent supporters of exiled Iranian figure Reza Pahlavi dancing under the Israeli flag during reported missile strikes on Iran has triggered a firestorm of public anger and soul-searching across Persian-language social media.
According to Saed News, a controversial video has surfaced on social media showing a group of individuals—identified by some users as supporters of Reza Pahlavi, the exiled son of Iran’s last Shah—dancing beneath an Israeli flag. The footage, reportedly filmed during or shortly after Israeli missile attacks that struck Iranian territory and caused civilian casualties, has ignited a wave of outrage online.
“This is beyond comprehension,” wrote one Persian-language user on X (formerly Twitter), who shared the clip. “How can any Iranian celebrate under the flag of a country that’s bombing their homeland, killing women and children?”
While the location and exact timing of the footage remain unverified, the symbolism has stirred a fierce debate over loyalty, exile politics, and the perceived moral boundaries of opposition activism. The Israeli government, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has not commented on the video, which coincided with reports of Israeli airstrikes targeting Iranian infrastructure.
Supporters of the video’s subjects argue the scene represents a protest against the Islamic Republic rather than solidarity with Israel. But critics view it as deeply insensitive, accusing the participants of aligning with a government actively engaged in hostile military actions against Iran.
The video has also reignited scrutiny of Reza Pahlavi’s political camp. Although Pahlavi himself has not issued any response, detractors online have seized the moment to condemn what they see as a disconnect between diaspora activism and the lived realities of Iranians inside the country.
