According to Saed News’s political desk, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei (born 1318 SH) is the second Leader of the Islamic Republic and one of the Shia maraji‘. Prior to his appointment to the leadership in 1368 SH, he served two terms as president and was also a member of the Islamic Consultative Assembly. The imamate of Tehran’s Friday prayers, bestowed upon him by Imam Khomeini, is among his religious offices. Ayatollah Khamenei is also regarded as one of the clerics who played a significant role in the Islamic Revolution.
