SAEDNEWS: Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has affirmed that Iran’s deployment in Syria during those years was driven solely by the need to counter U.S. forces and their affiliates across the region.

According to SaedNews’s political service, the venerable Leader—son of the late Hojjatoleslam Haj Seyyed Javad Hosseini Khamenei—was born on 24 Tir 1318 (28 Safar 1358 AH) in the holy city of Mashhad. He is the second son in his family. Like many clerical scholars, his father’s life was marked by profound simplicity, a virtue that his spouse and children also embraced wholeheartedly.

Last year, Ayatollah Khamenei expanded on this rationale, dismissing accusations of Iranian expansionism: “The claims that the Islamic Republic seeks to seize territories are baseless, nonsensical, and lies. We have no intention whatsoever of expansion or colonial ambition anywhere in the world. Thanks be to God, the people of Iran already enjoy a large, prosperous, and resource‑rich homeland.”
