SAEDNEWS: In the wake of recent U.S. and Israeli strikes, a leading Middle East analyst argues that any talks with Washington under current conditions are nothing more than a prelude to fresh aggression.
According to Saed News, Hamad Zare’an, a specialist in Western Asia affairs, has warned that negotiating with the United States at present offers “an invitation to deception and renewed invasion.” Speaking to Fars News, Zare’an underscored two insurmountable obstacles: the absence of a concrete agenda and America’s demonstrated unreliability after its recent military strikes on Iranian soil
“If negotiations were to resume on the nuclear issue,” he observed, “there is nothing left to discuss—Washington already chose the path of war, striking at the heart of Iran’s programme.” Zare’an further highlighted President Trump’s explicit pledge to eliminate Iran’s nuclear capability, arguing that once eradicated, the subject of any talks would be moot. He added that even raising Iran’s missile arsenal—a cornerstone of national defence—would be non‑negotiable, given its role in deterring further incursions.
Drawing on lessons from past rounds, Zare’an contended that the U.S., particularly under Trump, views diplomacy less as conflict resolution and more as a low‑cost means of imposing its will. “First comes the offer of dialogue to sow compliance, and failing that, military force follows,” he explained.
With roughly one thousand Iranians—including senior commanders and nuclear scientists—martyred and critical infrastructure damaged, Zare’an said the public firmly rejects any fresh talks. “The people understand that negotiating now would simply pave the way for another assault,” he concluded, urging policymakers to heed this consensus before entering any new diplomatic engagement.
