SAEDNEWS: A spate of false “exclusive” reports from UK-based Iran International—many citing anonymous insiders—has unraveled under scrutiny, with new revelations pointing to the exposure of one of its key sources within Iran.
According to Saed News, the UK-based satellite channel Iran International, long accused of disseminating unverified and often provocative reports on Iranian affairs, is now facing scrutiny after a critical intelligence source within Iran was reportedly exposed. The revelation comes amid growing skepticism—even from anti-establishment critics—over the network’s repeated reliance on anonymous “informed sources.”
In one high-profile instance, Iran International reported on June 12, 2025, that former security chief Ali Shamkhani had been “martyred” following an Israeli attack. Shamkhani, however, survived with injuries. Other exclusive stories claimed top Iranian officials were preparing to flee the country via “secure corridors” allegedly guaranteed by Russian intermediaries. Yet no corroborative evidence has surfaced.
Two years prior, a report suggested Iranian officials sought refuge arrangements in Venezuela in anticipation of a regime collapse—an assertion ridiculed by even monarchist and exile opposition figures.
Further stories included unfounded claims of Esmail Qaani’s house arrest, unsanctioned ceasefires brokered without the Supreme Leader’s knowledge, and alleged disagreements between Trump and Netanyahu on Iran policy—claims later contradicted by coordinated military action between the U.S. and Israel.
Iran International also cited “diplomatic sources” alleging that Iran requested Qatari and Omani mediation to halt Israeli attacks, just days before Tehran retaliated against U.S. positions in Qatar, indicating otherwise.
Perhaps most strikingly, a report claimed activist Narges Mohammadi was denied hospital transfer due to lack of guards, despite leaked prison footage showing her in seemingly good health.
Observers note that the volume of such unfounded exclusives—often proven false within hours—could fill
volumes. The exposure of the alleged internal source may now prompt a reckoning for the network’s editorial standards and credibility.
