SAEDNEWS: Amid escalating tensions and missile exchanges between Iran and U.S.-backed Israeli forces, senior Iranian official Mohammad Sadr declares that unprecedented national solidarity has become the most powerful barrier to foreign plots aimed at regime change and territorial disintegration.
According to Saed News, Mohammad Sadr, a senior member of Iran’s Expediency Council and former Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs, stated that America and Israel’s coordinated military pressure was designed to fracture Iranian society and provoke unrest. Instead, it triggered “unparalleled national unity” among all layers of society — conservatives and reformists, intellectuals and laypeople, supporters and critics of the establishment.
The crisis intensified after the United States joined Israel’s offensive on Iran in a surprise missile strike targeting the country’s nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan on June 23. Iran responded swiftly with a missile barrage on the U.S. air base at Al-Udeid in Qatar under the operation codename Besharat-e-Fath, led by the IRGC and approved by Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.
Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi stressed in a statement that Iran’s actions were within the framework of legitimate self-defense under the United Nations Charter. Hours later, he made clear on the social platform X that Israel had initiated hostilities and that Iran would halt further retaliation only if Israeli aggression ceased by 4 a.m. the following day — a deadline which marked the end of Iran’s military counteroffensive.
In an exclusive interview, Sadr denounced the military incursion as an act of aggression driven by distinct and dangerous objectives: the United States aims to instigate regime change, while Israel allegedly seeks to break up Iran territorially — a long-standing ambition tied to its opposition to Iran’s support for Palestine and resistance to Israeli statehood.
Sadr emphasized that this dual threat requires simultaneous activation of military and diplomatic strategies. “Diplomacy is now absolutely crucial,” he noted, calling for immediate engagement with international bodies such as the UN, Arab League, and Organization of Islamic Cooperation to condemn the attacks and prevent further escalation.
Despite media speculation that Donald Trump opposed a war with Iran, Sadr suggested otherwise, revealing that Trump had allegedly granted Netanyahu a 60-day window to begin military operations. “Israel would never have dared act without Washington’s green light,” he asserted, describing their collaboration as a calculated strategy to isolate and destabilize Iran.
On the battlefield and in diplomatic circles — including Geneva, Istanbul, and Moscow — Iran has shown determination, Araghchi insisted. But Sadr warned that unless international diplomacy intensifies, continued military confrontation remains likely. He acknowledged that more proactive diplomacy earlier on might have averted full-scale conflict, but stressed that now is not too late to pursue a ceasefire.
Above all, Sadr praised the Iranian public for standing firm in the face of adversity. “The greatest deterrent to American and Israeli goals has been the selfless solidarity of our people. They were hoping for division — instead, they witnessed unity,” he said. This, he believes, is the real weapon that can derail enemy plans and safeguard Iran’s sovereignty.
His message to Iranian officials is unequivocal: serve the people. “All ministries and agencies must function at full capacity to meet the basic needs of citizens. Mitigating the burdens of war requires coordinated efforts across every sector — military, diplomatic, and administrative,” he urged. “The independence and territorial integrity of Iran, and the wellbeing of its people, depend on it.”
