Vitkoff Met with Netanyahu

According to the Saed News website, citing Fars News Agency, the plane carrying Steve Vitkoff, Trump’s representative for West Asia affairs, landed at Ben Gurion Airport on the morning of Monday, May 11.

Vitkoff immediately went to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer, who is described as the mastermind behind the regime’s regional consultations.

Several other Israeli officials were also present at the meeting.

This trip comes one day before Donald Trump’s scheduled visit to the Arab states of the Persian Gulf. Notably, Trump does not plan to visit the occupied Palestinian territories during this trip—a highly unusual move.

Vitkoff’s visit to the occupied territories also comes just a day after he strongly criticized Netanyahu’s government in a meeting with the families of American hostages held by Hamas, stating that “the war has been prolonged without any clear goal.”

Vitkoff added that while the U.S. seeks the release of the hostages, Israel is not ready to end the war.

Israel’s Channel 12 reported on Sunday, quoting sources present at the meeting, that “Steve Vitkoff” said he disagreed with Israel’s approach to the war in Gaza and believed that reaching a new agreement for a ceasefire and the release of detainees is the right next step.

Amid these developments, "Aidan Alexander," an American captive held by Hamas, is expected to be released today. His release comes after indirect negotiations between the U.S. and Hamas, which has angered some Israeli circles.

Yair Golan, head of the Democratic Party in the occupied territories, said: “The fact that Aidan Alexander is being released only because he holds U.S. citizenship is a disgrace and a humiliation.”

Some media outlets have reported that Vitkoff plans to take “Aidan Alexander” with him to Qatar, where he is expected to meet with Trump.
