SAEDNEWS: The Tehran Prosecutor’s Office has taken concrete action by opening cases against the instigators of the recent terrorist incidents across the country. Judicial files have been formed for a number of individuals and groups accused of supporting or provoking the recent events, and the assets of several defendants have been seized.
According to the Political Desk of Saed News, citing the Media Center of the Judiciary, following the calls issued on the 18th and 19th of Dey 1404—which, in addition to the martyrdom of a large number of civilians, security and health defenders, firefighters, and law enforcement personnel, resulted in extensive damage to people’s private property and public assets—one of the key demands of the Head of the Judiciary was the serious investigation of the charges against individuals and groups that, directly or indirectly, enabled these damages through their support.
In this regard, by order of the Tehran Prosecutor’s Office, figures and groups that played a direct or indirect inciting role in the unrest and terrorist acts have been identified, and judicial cases have been opened against them.
According to this report, the Tehran Prosecutor’s Office has opened judicial cases against 15 sports figures and actors. In addition, cases have been filed against 10 signatories of a statement issued by the Cinema House. Among the judicial cases opened, the names of 60 cafés are also mentioned, which directly or indirectly aligned with and supported the terrorist calls of the 18th and 19th of Dey. Such direct or indirect support led to various tragedies, including targeted assassinations of ordinary civilians within crowds, the martyrdom of security and law enforcement forces, as well as widespread material damage to people and public property.
According to the report, in the cases filed against individuals and groups, the assets of some of these figures have been seized. An important point in this matter is that, in the preliminary judicial reviews, judges have concluded that the manner in which some defendants supported the recent calls is such that, if convicted, they must pay part of the damages inflicted on private and public property. This issue has been placed on the agenda.
