According to SAEDNEWS, Speaking to Fox News, Araghchi has said, “Although we do not have positive experience with Washington, diplomacy is better than war.”

He said, “It is the United States, that has always escaped from diplomacy and has chosen the war.”

In response to a question about his message to the US President Donald Trump, the top Iranian diplomat said, “Do not repeat the mistake you did in June. You know that if you try a failed experience, you will get the same result. You destroyed installations and machines, but you can not bombard the technology, determination and will.”

On June 13, Israel launched an unprovoked aggression against Iran, triggering a 12-day war that killed at least 1,064 people in the country, including military commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians. The United States also entered the war by bombing three Iranian nuclear sites in a grave violation of the United Nations Charter, international law, and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

Iran’s armed forces responded by striking strategic sites across the occupied territories as well as the al-Udeid air base in Qatar, the largest American military facility in West Asia.

On June 24, Iran, through its successful retaliatory operations against both the Israeli regime and the US, managed to impose a halt to the terrorist assault.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Araghchi referred to the recent riots in the country, describing the violent riots that unfolded in Iran on January 8 as the 13th day of the US and Israeli war against the country in the wake of the 12-day military aggression in June last year.

The foreign-backed terrorist elements followed the approach of the Daesh (ISIS) terrorist group, killing both police and the people, he added.

He said, “The reason that the terrorists fired at the people was that they wanted to drag Trump into war.”

The foreign minister underlined that they were fighting three days with the terrorists, not protesters, because the terrorists wanted to increase the number of dead to convince Trump to engage in war which was a precisely the Israeli agenda.

Israel has always sought to drag the US into war with Iran on its behalf, he said, adding that this secret purpose of Tel Aviv is now revealed.

Araghchi underlined that simmering tensions will have dire consequences for everyone.
