SAEDNEWS: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said that the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement between Iran and Russia is a determining factor in the international peace and security.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi made the remarks at a meeting with a group of Russian scholars, thinkers, and intellectuals in Moscow on Tuesday. He stressed that the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement between Iran and Russia not only safeguards the national interests of both countries but also serves as a decisive factor in preserving global peace and security.
During the meeting, Araghchi outlined the views of the Islamic Republic of Iran on international developments, with particular emphasis on issues related to international peace and security.
Iran’s top diplomat described the current situation in West Asia as chaotic and dangerous, holding Israel solely responsible for regional insecurity due to its actions carried out with full and unconditional support from the United States.
He characterized the stance of European parties toward the Zionist regime’s grave violations of international law—including acts of genocide and war crimes—as “shameful.”
Araghchi warned that the Israeli regime’s continued impunity for crimes committed in the occupied Palestinian territories, its aggressions against Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and other countries in the region, as well as the ongoing indifference of some states toward these violations, pose a serious threat to peace and stability in both the region and the world.
Addressing Iran’s nuclear issue, Araghchi blamed the US government for its continued breach of commitments and criticized the three European countries for complying with Washington’s illegal actions—particularly the unilateral withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in 2018 and the military aggression against Iran in March 2025.
He reaffirmed the firm determination of the Iranian nation to defend the country’s legitimate rights and interests in accordance with the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
During the meeting, Russian scholars and thinkers also raised questions and shared their perspectives on Iran–Russia bilateral relations in the international arena.
