SAEDNEWS: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi warned of dangerous Israeli activities in the Caribbean and Latin America, calling them a major threat to peace, stability and calm in the region.
In a Tuesday telephone conversation, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Eduardo Gil Pinto discussed bilateral relations and recent developments in the Caribbean.
The two officials reviewed cooperation across multiple areas, including economic, trade, and technological sectors, emphasizing the importance of deepening collaboration both bilaterally and multilaterally, as well as within the framework of South-South cooperation.
Araqchi and Gil Pinto also exchanged views on international developments and the current situation in the Caribbean and Latin America.
Araqchi strongly condemned the United States’ coercive approach toward Venezuela and other independent developing nations in the Western Hemisphere. He described Washington’s threat of military action against Caracas as a clear and serious violation of the UN Charter and peremptory norms of international law.
He stressed the collective responsibility of the international community to uphold the principles and objectives of the United Nations in the face of aggressive U.S. unilateralism.
Referring to the activities of the Israeli regime in the Caribbean and Latin America, Araqchi called them a significant threat to regional peace, stability, and security. He highlighted the obligation of all governments to hold Israeli officials accountable for genocide and other serious crimes.
For his part, Foreign Minister Gil Pinto expressed appreciation for Iran’s principled stance and underscored the importance of strengthening strategic ties between Tehran and Caracas. He also highlighted the resilience of the Venezuelan people and government in resisting illegal U.S. pressures and interventions.
