SAEDNEWS: U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke by phone with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani on Tuesday evening. Continuing his confrontational stance toward Iraq’s resistance groups, the U.S. Secretary of State claimed there is a “need to accelerate the disarmament of Iran-aligned armed groups” in Iraq.
According to the Politics Service of Saed News, Americans are deeply concerned about Iraq’s resistance groups and, in order to secure the Israeli regime, spare no effort in plotting against them. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke by phone Tuesday evening with Iraq’s Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani.
Continuing his antagonism toward Iraq’s resistance groups, the U.S. Secretary of State claimed the “need to accelerate the disarmament of Iran-aligned armed groups” in Iraq. Rubio also discussed with al-Sudani efforts to finalize U.S. trade contracts in Iraq, asserting that the weapons held by resistance groups weaken the country.
Pointing to the threat these groups allegedly pose to Americans, he claimed that they “plunder Iraq’s resources in favor of Tehran.” The United States has repeatedly raised accusations against Iraq’s resistance movements, seeking their disarmament to protect its interests and to ensure the security of the Israeli regime.
Recently, Abu Ali al-Askari, the security official of Iraq’s Hezbollah Brigades, strongly condemned calls for the surrender of resistance groups’ weapons in the region.
Al-Askari emphasized that some mercenaries, following the lead of Israelis and Americans, aim to disarm the resistance, including Iraq-based groups. He stressed that the resistance’s weapons have defended Iraq’s sanctities and government, particularly at a time when all others had failed and Baghdad was close to falling into the hands of U.S.-backed Takfiri, Wahhabi, and Saudi groups.
In conclusion, the Hezbollah official said that those demanding the surrender of weapons should instead speak about the arms of the occupying Americans, their bases, and arsenals in Iraq. He added that attention should also be given to the weapons of occupying Turkey and the Peshmerga arms linked to the Israeli regime.
